Over the past four weeks Banyule Nillumbik Tech School welcomed students from Charles La Trobe Secondary College and Eltham High School who participated in the Staying Steady Design Challenge. Over 300 students completed the program, creating wearable technology for the elderly in our community, to prevent falls or assist them with rehabilitation. From heart rate tracking rings to fall protecting vests, a range of assistive technology innovations have been created and successfully pitched to their peers by the students.

A student from Eltham High School provided the following testimonial about the program:

“I enjoyed the Staying Steady program, we learned new things and I enjoyed cooperating with new people during the program.”

We have enjoyed having students back on site over the past month of programs and look forward to having more students on site heading into 2022!
