BNTS at the Motorclassica
Skylie
On Friday 11th October the Banyule Nillumbik Tech School was invited to set up a display at the Motorclassica, an annual event held at the royal exhibition centre which displays hundreds if highly desirable concourse Veteran, Classic, Antuique and Unique cars along with some of the most desirable modern cars represented as well. Friday 11th was a special school day and students from all over Victoria came to the event to see and appreciate the work opportunities provided by the automotive industry. Represented in the advanced manufacturing section there were some very interesting educational displays including a virtual reality spray painting simulator which can help apprentices get a deeper understanding of the art of painting a cars body. It was in this section that the BNTS display was located and the stall was attended by hundreds of students some of whom got to see a 3D printer in action for the first time, and others who got the chance to make simple electronic circuits in a five minute practical activity.
