Term 1 has flown by and many of us are now enjoying a  well deserved break over Easter.

At the Tech School, Term break is a time for us to reflect on what we did well, where we could improve, attend a number of professional development sessions to up our technical skills, and prepare for Term 2!

Almost all of our 21 partner schools joined us in Term 1 to experience a range of new and exciting programs on offer. In Term 2, we  are very excited to be launching two new Applied Learning Master Classes for secondary schools – Live Radio – where students produce their very own radio show that goes live on air through SYN Radio across Melbourne and Geelong; and Spatial Data Science – a  program mapped to Maths and Geography Curriculum, where students fly drone and extract data using Arc GIS software to solve a problem posed by industry partners Repurpose It. Schools can now book into these programs for any day that suits the timetable. We welcome two new schools to the partnership – Waratah Special Development School and Ivanhoe Grammar. We look forward to working with your students!

Term 2 sees the launch of two after school clubs – Schools on Air and Music Making and Sound Production. These clubs were so popular that before they have even launched, they have a wait list.

Our highly sort after Teacher Professional Development Program Design to Innovate kicks off next Term for teachers,  in partnership with the Victoria Academy of Teaching and Leadership. Over three days, teachers are introduced to Design Thinking as an inquiry framework for implementing project based learning within their schools. The Tech Schools supports partner schools by providing CRT for teachers to be able to attend this program. Please contact if you have teachers you would like to nominate.

Wishing you and your communities a safe and happy Easter break.
