Science Week Student Entrepreneurs

Student Start-Up is our multi-partner accelerator program designed to help high-school students grow their exciting ideas into a business.

On 17 August, students from Eltham High School, St Helena Secondary, Catholic Ladies College and Parade College launched a number of innovating businesses.
The event was supported by Award winning cheese makers That’s Amore Cheese, Thomastown who revealed the Science Behind Cheese with live mozzarella demonstrations, and Melbourne Polytechnic showcasing their wines from their vineyards across the North of Melbourne. The event concluded with an engaging presentation from Professor Veena Sahajwalla, who is revolutionising recycling science and tackling the global waste crisis at her SMaRT Centre the worlds first e-waste micro-factory!

Chew ecofriendly pet toys: An ecofriendly pet food dispenser, a concept that started when these students attended our three day War on Waste Inquiry.
