Sod Turning Ceremony
After much preparation, we were greeted with some seasonally inclement weather on the 17th August, and although no sods were officially turned, it did not dampen the occasion. It was fantastic to see so many partners and supporters come together at the Melbourne Innovation Centre to celebrate our progress to date.  The Deputy Premier and Education Minster, James Merlino spoke of the vision for the tech schools and the opportunities that it will provide for our community. Melbourne Polytechnic CEO, Rob Wood spoke of the educational importance of the Banyule Nillumbik Tech School in paving the way for a new way of learning. Executive Director of the Banyule Nillumbik and Whittlesea Tech Schools, Marc Blanks highlighted the work that has been undertaken by many to reach this point and reaffirmed the commitment of this initiative to providing the young people of the North of Melbourne with the skills needed to engage in contemporary work and life.

Also, we were thrilled to announce CSC as the builder of the Tech School and we welcome them in joining us to begin the tangible development of the built environment.
In all, even though the weather was not favourable, the ceremony was a celebration of an important developmental milestone and we look forward to seeing construction begin in the coming weeks.
